3 - Lourdes is a must!
The second-largest Catholic pilgrimage site in the world after Rome, the town of Lourdes was made famous by the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Bernadette Soubirous between 11 February and 16 July 1858. Today, the sanctuaries of Lourdes, located on the banks of the Gave de Pau, attract millions of visitors and pilgrims every year. The Rosary esplanade - dominated by the neo-Byzantine-style Basilica of Our Lady, the crypt and the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception -, the famous Miraculous Grotto where the Virgin Mary appeared 18 times, the underground Basilica of St Pius X, the Espace Sainte-Bernadette and the Way of the Cross with its 15 stations are among the highlights of the religious city. 4 - The Cirque de Troumouse
Less vertical than Gavarnie, the Cirque de Troumouse is the largest and most open of the valley's three great glacial cirques. It has a circumference of around 11km! Its size, combined with its peaceful, verdant atmosphere, gives it a very special charm.

5 - Our terroir
Francis à Sia's genuine Rocher des Pyrénées spit cake. For generations, he has baked his cake on a spit over lime wood in the fireplace. His secret for a smooth cake is to add a homemade fruit compote with citrus fruits and spices to the batter to give it its inimitable flavour, but we won't tell you all about the recipe!
His cake can be kept for a long time, but away from greedy people.
