3 - The Merle towers

Set in a landscape of forests and deep gorges, the town of Merle is a spectacular feudal complex of seven towers built between the 12th and 15th centuries, each belonging to a different lord.

A medieval castrum built on a rocky spur overlooking the River Maronne, the Tours de Merle are set in the hills and forests of the Xaintrie. They are a natural fortress in an authentic part of the Corrèze: the Xaintrie!

This historic site captures the imagination of visitors of all ages!

Classified as a Historic Monument since 1927, listed as a landscape monument, located in a Natura 2000 zone and of ecological interest for flora and fauna, the site is a treasure trove of history and nature.
